An image represents the union of all aspects that make an entity visible. The connection of this definition to the concept of visual merchandising is not purely random: it uses principles that exist throughout the process of creating meaning in order to create more complex relationships and desires between the individual and a world full of means to satisfy his needs. In other words, visual merchandising is seen as a phenomenon that not only makes products more visible to customers, but also affects the way people assess their needs for different types of goods.
